Personal Mission Statement

A personal statement is important because it helps to lead you to success and stay on the right track. There are a few steps to making a personal mission statement:
Step 1 - Identify your successes, and things that you like to do.
Step 2 - Identify your core values, the qualities that you have.
Step 3 - Identify your contributions, thing that you want to accomplish.
Step 4 - Identify your goals, short-term and long-term.
Step 5 - Write your personal mission statement.
A personal mission statement can help you in so many ways, in school, and in life! Without one, nothing might happen to you, but you'll be better off with one because then you will see what you have planned for your self and you will more than likely accomplish if you want to accomplish it.

Wellness, Health, and Fitness.

Wellness, health, and fitness are important in life because that’s how you get through life being happy. You need all three to be happy in life. You must do all three to enjoy life.
Wellness is things you do to take care of your body. For example, you shouldn’t smoke cigarettes because you will then be just asking to get lung cancer. You shouldn’t eat so much junk food because then you will cause a lot of fat to your body and then you are going to feel uncomfortable in your own skin and you will then get depressed. You shouldn’t abuse alcohol or you will harm your liver. Go to sleep on time so you can get your full 8 hours of sleep. If you lack on your sleep not only will you be late to school, work, or appointment, but you will also be very sleepy that you won’t even be able to concentrate in class or what ever else it is that you are doing, not only that but you will also end up getting dark bags underneath your eyes which are unattractive.
Health is another important thing in one’s life. Being healthy is staying away from being sick, from diseases and all that bad stuff. I don’t like getting a cold, I don’t know about you guys. Now imagine getting a bigger harder disease. Such as cancer, STDs, HIV, and AIDS. I know cancer is unfortunately something that people get without asking for it, most of the time. But other than that, why would you want to even risk your life getting a disease like that. I hate it when people get something that they could have prevented themselves and then cry about it later. I mean I know that it sucks but then again why would you do it in the first place. I think there is no excuse for something so silly.
Fitness is another important factor in life because imagine one day a friend asks you to go play basketball at the park one morning, so you decide to go and while you are playing you are running out of breath and losing focus and you can’t run up and down the court as quick as your other friends. I know I wouldn’t like that.
It’s hard to be in top shape, but everyone can go run a few laps every few days instead of sitting on our bed watching TV with all these bags of chips and candy around us.

Life is a delicious meal :P

I have always had an interest in cooking ever since I was a little girl, but that interest has been getting stronger and stronger now that I'm getting older and have to decide what I would like to do as a career for the rest of my life. I think I am going to go for it. I have to fulfill my dreams.

My Hobbies, My Interest.

I don’t really have that many interest or hobbies. But my main one would be lacrosse. Lacrosse is a sport that was first started by the natives to prepare them in war a long time ago. I love to play that sport because it’s a rush running down the field with the ball or to get it back from the opposite team. I have been playing it since my freshman year of high school and have been playing it since. This year is going to be my 3rd year playing it and it’s going to be my 1st year being a captain for the team. I’m not so excited to play this year because we have been very unorganized with everything. Our season started today and we are to behind on everything, our uniforms were suppose to be ordered last week and we haven’t even talked about them. This season is going to be really boring.
Some interest that I have is to become a chef. I love the way that when you mix a few ingredients together you can make a delicious edible treat or meal. I don’t really know if I want to become a chef as a career because of the fact that there is just so much competition. I would probably prefer to get another job and then maybe do cooking as a hobby once I get older when I have more free time.
Another thing that I like to do is study people, like wonder why someone is the way that they are. I remember taking a child development class here in high school and I found out that if you potty train a child to early in life that they can become too needy, too organized, and to try to be perfect when they get older. Also, when parents think that children need to be left alone when they get older to they can become independent is actually a really bad thing it actually makes it hard for that person to trust anyone when they become adults. Little things like that interest me.

Tyler Haws

I thought this video was really cool. It shows that every one needs to work hard for what they want. Things aren't going to be given to us. We need to want it in order to work hard and get it. As an 8 year old he got cut off a basketball team and his dad told him that if he wanted to go back in he would need to work hard to get it back and so they did. They both got up early in the morning and did what they had to do. He had to work almost all his life to get to where he is at right now. It's not like he just got up one morning and decided to just go and play basketball. No, he practiced and practiced and practiced and won't stop practicing. Cause like that famous quote says "practice makes perfect" :)

Jason McElwain

I have seen this video before. When I first saw it it made me tear up. I was actually the one who showed it to Mr. Haymore. In another video it shows that he had tried out for the team before but he didn't make so the coach let him be his assistant. Jason had only missed 1 game of the whole season and for the last game the coach decided to get let Jason wear a jersey. He wasn't planning on putting him in the game but for the last 4 minutes he decided to give Jason a chance to play. At first he was just hoping that Jason would make just one shot but at the end he ended up making 20 shots in just 4 minutes! He made the most shots than anyone that day! It's incredible, and very motivating :)

The meaning of my name.

My first name Jessica is origin Hebrew. It means Woman of Wealth, God Beholds, God sees. The name was invented by Shakespeare for the daughter of a Jewish merchant, Shylock, in his play 'The Merchant of Venice'. It would have been spelled Jescha in his time. It wasn't commonly used as a given name until the middle of the 20th century.
My last name is a common Hispanic surname bestowed on a person who lived on a riverbank. The Rivera surname can be traced back to Gonzalo Lopez de Rivera, Lord of the Castle of Rivera in Galicia in the 1200's. Some sources, however, claim that the Riveras are directed descendants of Sancho Belloso, natural-born son of the King of Leon, Ramiro III. Others, that the name dates back to ancient Roman times.
